Creating a New Mailing in Manual Mode

Utilize the "Manual Mode" to create new Contacts Mailing template.
  • To create a new mailing, click "Create Template" in the upper right corner of the page from the Contacts Mailing tab. This will bring you to a blank template that you can customize for each mailing. When creating a new template, please keep the following in mind:

Required Fields:

  • Recipients: To add recipients from your database, click the small magnifying glass on the upper right hand corner. From here, you can add your contacts individually, by contact group or by event.

NOTE: If you are adding a large amount of contacts, this may take some time to populate.

  • Send From Name: This is the name from which the message will appear to be sent from.

  • Send From Email: This is the email address from which the message will appear to be sent from.

  • Reply-To Email: This is the email address that will receive any responses to your mailing.

  • Department: This is the department to which the email belongs.

  • Subject: This is the subject of the email that will appear in the recipient's inbox.

Optional Formatting

  • Attachments: Anything uploaded here will appear as an attachment to the email, not within it.

  • Add an Image: This is where you can add an image to appear within your mailing on the left or right side of the text of the email. We recommend sizing your image at approximately 150x333 pixels.

  • Add a Logo: Add a logo or header image to appear at the top or bottom of the email spanning its width.

  • Custom Database Variables: These are the fields that allow you to mail merge from your database. Add custom database variables to your email such as the recipients' first or last name, salutation, etc.

Additional Tips:

  • Adding an Image to Your Email: Add an image to the body of your email by selecting the small mountain icon in the second row of the email formatting options. This will allow you to browse for the image and add it so it is in line with your text.

  • Adding a Link to Your Email: Add a link to your email by highlighting the text or image you wish for people to click on and then selecting the icon with a small globe and a chain below it, located in the second row of the email formatting options. Enter the URL and click "Submit."

  • Sending a Test Email of your Mailing: To send a test email, click "Show Preview" at the bottom left. Then select a recipient to see the actual email they will receive. Click "Send Test Email" and input your own email address. Click "Send" and you should receive the test email immediately.

NOTE: Selecting a recipient will NOT send a test email to that person; it will only show YOU what their email will look like. When you have finalized your draft, you can select "Save as Draft" to exit or "Send" to complete your mailing.
