Installing a Network Printer (PC)

Before you begin, please ensure you are running the newest version of Java. This can be downloaded here:

  • Download the driver from Save this in a folder you can easily find later.

  • UnZip (extract) its contents by right-clicking on the folder.

  • After extracting the files, go to Control Panel --> Devices and Printers --> Add Printer and do the following:

NOTE: The following steps will have to be completed twice — once for the Barcode printer, and once for the Address printer.

  • Click on "Add a local printer" and hit Next.

  • Select "Create a new port" and choose Standard TCP/IP Port. Click Next.

  • In "Hostname or IP address", type in the IP number for your printer. To find out what your IP number is, hold down the button on the top of your printer until it flashes once. The printer will print out labels with the IP number on them. Click Next.

  • Click Next.

  • Click "Have Disk..." and hit Next.

  • Click on "Browse..."

  • Search for the Unzipped file you saved earlier. Click on Zebra Driver and Open.

  • Click on ZBRN and Open.

  • Select the ZBRN file (.inf) and click Open.

  • Click OK.

  • Select ZDesigner TLP2824 Plus (EPL) for Barcode label printer installation and ZDesigner GK420d (EPL) for the Address label printer. Click Next.

  • Name the printer "Barcode" or "Address". Click Next.

  • De-select "Set as the default printer" and click Finish.

Once you've installed your printer on your computer, you're ready to connect it to GPS Samples.
